Andrea Dovizioso has left the MotoGP he 2022 season underway, racing his last race at nearby Misano. The rider from Forlì has never managed to adapt to the Yamaha M1, since his return to the premier class, right in San Marino GP of the year before. He tried in every possible way to change his riding style, but it wasn’t easy for the MotoGP veteran, after all used to years in Ducati with a very different bike.

From next year he will officially dedicate himself to the management of the Monte Coralli cross track in Faenza. His company RPM was awarded the twenty-year tender and the track will see its name changed to 04 Park – Monte Coralli of Faenza. An ambitious and exciting project that also includes the expansion of the track and related structures, which will allow him to continue to cultivate his great passion for motocross, after having competed in various regional and national level races.

Andrea Dovizioso and the memory of Ducati

Andrea Dovizioso and Marc Márquez – Motori.News

The MotoGP world will obviously remain part of itself, it is difficult to forget a paddock that it shared for about twenty years, also winning a world title in the 125cc and establishing itself as runner-up in the world three times with the Ducati Desmosedici GP, always finishing behind Marc Marquez, at the time in his moment of major grace. The decision to resign did not mature overnight: “I took some time to think about it“, he tells Motorsport-Magazin. “My decision was well considered so that I can enjoy the last race“.

At the end of 2020 he sanctioned the divorce from House of Borgo Panigale due to misunderstandings with some managers. “It’s always a shame when a relationship ends like this, no matter what kind of relationship we’re talking about“, underlined Andrea Dovizioso. “I am a person who tries to have a good relationship with everyone. In this case, unfortunately, it ended badly. But I would like to say that I don’t have a bad relationship with Ducati per se. I have a bad relationship with some people in Ducati. This is the difference“.

Many people have great respect for me…“.
