Due to the pollution that afflicts many cities in Italy, many initiatives have been implemented throughout the country to change the lives of many motorists.
Some of these will soon be forced to scrap their vehicles, due to the traffic ban imposed in various Italian cities.
The cities that invite citizens to reduce indoor pollution by using less polluting cars at least for the moment are Rome, Turin and Milan who have a big problem: excessive, polluting and dangerous car fumes not only for the environment but also for health.
This is why these three cities in particular have established limits on traffic within the boundaries of the territory.
Traffic restrictions for polluting vehicles
The limits and the ban on circulation affect old and therefore polluting cars. Electric cars or hybrid cars are promoted, also giving incentives for the purchase. All these new cars will have the opportunity to take advantage of, for example, free parking or free access to any time of day or nightto restricted traffic areas.
This is obviously an attempt to push motorists to buy sustainable cars and to replace the excessively polluting old ones. In Rome, starting from the month of November, the green band will come into force and will remain active from Monday to Saturday, during which the Euro 3 diesel vehicles, all Euro 1 vehicles and Euro 2 petrol vehicles.
All these vehicles will no longer have the ability to enter the ring road. The objective of the capital, with the traffic ban imposed on these types of vehicles, is to promote green mobility. In fact, starting this year, not even Euro 4 vehicles will be able to access the green area, the following year the same ban will also apply to Euro 3 petrol vehicles.
