Those who do not respect the limit are forced to pay significant fines established by art. 142 paragraph 7, 8, 9 and 9-bis of the Highway Code. Anyone who exceeds the speed limit by no more than 10 km/h receives one fine from 42 to 173 euros.

If you exceed the limits by more than 10 km/h and do not go beyond 40 km/h, you will receive a fine ranging from 173 to 695 euros, with the deduction of 3 points from your driving licence.

Those who exceed them by more than 40 km/h and no more than 60 km/h, has a fine ranging from 544 to 2,174 euros, with the reduction of six points from the license plus the suspension of the document from 1 to three months. Those who exceed the limits of more than 60 km/h, on the other hand, are forced to pay a fine ranging from 847 to 3,389 euros with the deduction of 10 points from the licence, suspended from 6 months to a year.
