The driving license is the document to always carry with you
In case of checks, the document that is required to be shown is the driving licence. The document is mandatory to drive any vehicle and if you forget it you are subject to a fine, as required by the Highway Code.
In fact, if you forget your driving license at home, you have 30 days to go to a police station and show the certificate. You also have to fill out a special form, but you get the fine anyway.
There fine can range from 41 Euros to 168 Euros. If you don’t respect these deadlines, and therefore you don’t go to the police station within 30 days of showing the licence, the fine increases in amount and can range from 419 Euros to over 1,600 Euros.
Showing a counterfeit license is illegal
If instead exhibit a counterfeit license the troubles are greater. This happened recently in Turin, where a local police patrol that was carrying out checks in the Borgo Dora area noticed that the license shown by a motorist had been obtained in Poland.
To arouse suspicion they have been the residence and nationality of man, which were in two different places. From this suspicion the verification was triggered and it emerged that the license exhibited was counterfeit, therefore it was false.
The fine in these cases goes beyond 4900 euros and you can no longer circulate since you remain without a driving licence. Therefore, avoid incurring these stratagems to circulate, the fines are very high!
