Indeed, there is another big mistake that can cost you very dearly, both in economic terms and in terms of deducting points from your driving licence. What are we referring to? When entering a roundabout you are obliged by Traffic Laws to report it through activation of the left arrow. This is what was decided by the Ministry in 2011, since until that date there was no similar indication in the Highway Code. Once you enter the roundabout, the arrow can be removed.
But that’s not all as regards the indicators to be activated during the travel phase of a roundabout. Indeed, once you reach the desired exit, it will be mandatory for the road user to report the matter to the other motorists present behind. In doing so you will have to activate the right arrow.
In case of medium or large roundabouts, all these rules are easy to follow, since you will have time to activate all the indicators necessary for a correct use of the roundabout. Things get a little more complicated in the presence of small roundabouts.
What do you risk if you don’t activate the arrows when entering and exiting a roundabout? If you are ‘caught’ for not using the direction indicators at a roundabout you risk suffering afine of between 42 and 173 euros. Also, you may be subject to subtraction of 2 points from the license.
Things get worse if you don’t give way. There fineif so, it is included between 167 and 665 euros. Plus, they’ll come to you too subtracted 5 points from the driving licence.
