Bowlus Heritage Edition Is The World’s Cheapest and Lightest Travel Trailer from The Company

Bowlus is a company that makes some of the most luxurious travel trailers in the world. Wrapped in a simplified retro look package, the RV is also among the most expensive on the market, easily topping the $300,000 mark when you add up the options you want and need. But for the 2023 model year, Bowlus is bringing a new entry-level product that’s much more affordable than the company’s other models.

The Heritage Edition doesn’t disappoint with its “finish hardened” exterior, which is a satin silver finish compared to the polished aluminum finish of the company’s more expensive products. The Bowlus’ distinctive shape is made of glued aluminum with a monocoque construction similar to that of an airplane. Alternatively, for the first time, Bowlus is also offering wrap options for the Legacy Edition which allows customers to customize their RV in jet black or satin gray.

Bowlus highlights that the travel trailer weighs only about 2,900 pounds (1,315 kilograms) in its basic form, which, according to the company’s claims, makes it the world’s lightest full-size travel trailer currently in production. Bowlus also promises more than 80 percent range when electric vehicles pull it up, similar to the Terra Firma and Volterra models.

Each Legacy Edition trailer comes with a 2 kWh battery pack, while the Power Package I adds another 2 kWh, a 2,000 watt inverter, solar power, Bluetooth power monitoring and up to 4 hours of off-grid AC. There’s also a Power Plan II, which upgrades equipment to a 3,000-watt inverter, 6 kWh battery pack, touchscreen power panel, and off-grid AC for up to 8 hours. Bowlus says that the more expensive power options provide up to a week and a half of off-grid life.

While the Heritage Edition is the manufacturer’s entry-level product, it has nearly everything you’ll need for a week’s stay in the great outdoors. The cabin sleeps four adults comfortably and as standard, the RV is equipped with a King size bed. Optionally, customers can place a special order for outdoor beds and awnings that meet their needs.

Bowlus is now taking orders for the 2023 Legacy Edition. Pricing starts at $159,000 MSRP and financing is available from $1,027/month.
