Ram Revolution Concept Debuts Today: Check Out Live Stream

The Revolution Concept was supposed to debut at the 2022 Los Angeles Auto Show but Ram decided to hold off its premiere until CES. The cover was finally revealed today during a livestream event for the electric pickup truck that will go up against the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet Silverado EV. The next production version coming in 2024 will likely have a different moniker, possibly 1500 REV as suggested in a recent trademark filing.

Ahead of today’s premiere of the concept in Las Vegas, Ram has released some preliminary teaser images and technical specifications. We know the Revolution will use the STLA Frame platform which will support body-on-frame EVs with a maximum range of 500 miles (805 kilometers). The juice will be provided by large battery packs varying in capacity from 159 kWh to over 200 kWh.

Stellantis previously said the STLA Frame will be used for the Ram and Jeep’s rugged EV that will measure between 5,400 to 5,900 millimeters (212.5 to 232.3 inches). As for the Revolution, that should be a good indicator of the production model taking into account that the road version is roughly a year away. The dual-motor version with all-wheel drive and dual-cab body style seems like an educated guess, along with a large front trunk after removing the grease.

While there’s no word on power yet, the electric Ram 1500 should be a worthy contender for the F-150 Lightning, which makes 580 hp (433 kW) and 775 lb-ft (1,050 Nm). The Silverado EV has more power, which is 754 hp (562 kW) and 785 lb-ft (1,064 Nm). A more affordable version with rear-wheel drive and a single motor will broaden the customer base.

As far as pricing is concerned, we’ll remind you that the Blue Oval electric ute now costs $57,869 for the 2023 model year. The company with the bowtie badge is charging $41,595 for the Silverado without the most basic ICE. Both figures include the destination fee.
