Refreshed Porsche 911 Spied Lapping The Nurburgring In Video

Development of the updated Porsche 911 continues at the Nürburgring. This spy video allows us to see the new model on the move.

Up front, the updated 911 adopts active shutters on each side of the fascia. This one has a small auxiliary light on the outer edge, but the light looks like a placeholder because it’s not integrated into the body. In the center of the nose, there is a sensor for driver assistance technology.

This car rides on mismatched wheels. The one at the front has a Y-shaped spoke. At the back, there is a 10-spoke design. Both have black color.

At the rear, Porsche engineers installed panels to hide the bumper. The two exhaust pipes occupy a location closer to the center. The fixed taillights consist of a thin light strip with thicker lights on each side.

Inside, recent spyshots let us take a look at the revised instrument cluster. There are now completely digital displays. In the picture, the tachometer is in the center, and the speedometer is on the left. Another gauge is on the right, but the info isn’t visible because the computer screen hides what it’s showing.

Powertrain changes for the standard Carrera are still a mystery. However, we do know that a hybrid powertrain is joining the updated 911 lineup. The electrification system is reportedly putting more emphasis on power, rather than improving fuel efficiency. A more aggressive GTS variant is also being developed.

We hope that at least some members of the updated 911 range will go on sale in 2023, Porsche Italia CEO Pietro Innocenti told Motor1 Italy that the hybrid will arrive “soon” without offering specific timing details for its debut.

Porsche’s engineering team remains extremely busy with vehicle development. There’s a test mule for the next-generation fully electric 718 Boxster hanging around. The refreshed Taycan has a new, smoother nose. The crew is working on a revised Cayenne. Plus, the Macan EV is on its way.
