The Dodge Viper may be gone, but as long as videos like the one above keep coming up, it will never be forgotten. This is just a two-minute montage of the Viper in action, but if you like the sound of a screaming twin-turbocharged V10 producing insane horsepower, you’ve come to the right place.

The clip came to us from Goobers Garage on YouTube, where you’ll find other videos from this 2014 Viper back then only has about 2,000 hp. We don’t have a full overview of all the go-fast parts installed here, but it is made by Calvo Motorsports – a company known for creating some very fast Vipers. While the build details are neat, total power output is the need-to-know info here, and it comes up early in the action. Mounted to a hub dyno, this eco-friendly engine reaches – wait for it – 3,317 hp and 2,307 pound-feet of torque. And it’s measured at the wheels, so the power at the crankshaft is even higher.

That explains why the massive Viper strained against its moorings during the multiple pulls of the dyno. When turbo spooled, full power goes to the hub dyno and the front end immediately lifts up against the cog rope. Other than that, stay there for the full run, finally relaxing when the throttle is released. And as an added bonus, we were treated to flames shooting out of the exhaust when the wind picked up.

Hang on to the end of the video and you’ll be treated to several still clips, followed by an explosion on the drag track where we don’t think traction is ever fully achieved. Guys, this Viper is no joke.

Production of the Dodge Viper ended in 2017 with the fifth generation. When the muscular American supercar rolls out, its massive 8.4-liter V10 engine produces 645 horsepower at a slow revving of 6,150 rpm. The engine was originally designed by Lamborghini in the late 1980s, and although it has improved over the years, it retained pushrod two-valve operation until the very end. And as we’ve seen before, it lives on as one capable of delivering incredible power in the hands of aftermarket tuners.
