Buick Envista Spied Testing in the United States

In November, Buick confirmed that the Envista crossover would be coming to the United States. Now, we have spy photos of the model without camouflage testing in Michigan.

Envista is currently available in China, and Buick makes vehicles there as well. In that market, the crossover is available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 181 horsepower (135 kilowatts). A CVT sends output to the front wheels. The settings make the vehicle reach 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 7.9 seconds. It’s unclear whether the US version will use the same powertrain.

The Envista in China measures 182.6 inches (4,638 millimeters) and has a wheelbase of 106.3 inches (2,700 mm). This model is 71.5 inches (1,816 mm) wide and 61.6 inches (1,565 mm) high.

The exterior design looks identical to the models available in China. This one wears the ST badge, which likely indicates the trim level or package. The vehicle has a sharply styled nose and a highly sculpted body. The only bit of camouflage on the car is at the rear, and the hood likely hides the Buick name from the general public, though the badge is easily visible.

Inside, the China-market Envista has a 10.25-inch infotainment screen running Baidu’s navigation system. While the screen size may remain the same, expect software changes for the North American version. The crossover offers a digital instrument cluster. Available features include a 360-degree camera system, device charging pad, and wireless Apple CarPlay.

The exact launch time for Envista in the US is unclear. We hope to debut before the end of 2023.

With an overall length of 182.6 inches, the Envista is only a hair longer than the Envision, at 182.5 inches (4,636 mm). However, the Envision has a longer wheelbase of 109.4 inches (2,779 mm), compared to 106.3 inches for the Envista.
