Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate Teased For First Time

The current Aston Martin DBS has been around since 2018. Since its launch, several versions have been introduced to keep the nameplate alive.

Aston Martin wants to “go above and beyond” in an upcoming version called the DBS 770 Ultimate. The latest version of the grand tourer is said to be the flagship of the last edition of the nameplate.

Details about the upcoming model aren’t plentiful, though a cinematic video teaser released by the Gaydon-based automaker (check out the video above) should give us a glimpse of what to expect.

Assuming that the numerical designation follows that of the Aston Martin DBX707, the DBS 770 Ultimate can produce 770 metric horsepower or 759 brake horsepower (566 kilowatts). Precise details on how this is squeezed out of the alleged twin-turbo 5.2-liter V12 are scarce.

As a benchmark, the very limited DBS Superleggera 007 Edition produces 715 hp (526 kW) and 664 pound-feet (900 Newton-meters) from a 12-pot mill. It can reach 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in 3.4 seconds from a complete stop, which tops out at 211 mph (340 km/h). Suffice it to say, we expected better performance figures with the more powerful version of the Grand Tourer.

Naturally, typical design details will be implemented on the DBS 770 Ultimate, but that remains to be revealed in the next few months. The teaser doesn’t give away much except the name of the automaker on what appears to be the back of a green DBS, plus a few flash details or you’d miss it from the video teaser. The release stated that the new DBS would be “Re-engineered, sharper dynamic focus coupled with beautiful design.”

According to Aston Martin, the DBS 770 Ultimate will debut in early 2023, although an exact date has yet to be announced. It will be offered in limited quantities – 499 examples to be exact. The automaker is also still tight-lipped about the price.
