Subaru Impreza With STI Parts To Debut In Japan Next Month

One of the first major international auto shows for 2023 will be the Tokyo Auto Salon, which is scheduled to be held between January 13 and 15 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. Subaru will be arriving at the event with a number of new production, near-production, and concept vehicles. A highlight at the brand’s booth was the new Impreza in the starboard configuration, which also featured STI performance components.

The sixth generation of this popular model was unveiled to the public for the first time during the Los Angeles Auto Show in November this year in North American specifications. It will show its face to Japanese audiences in January 2023 when it will debut in the RHD configuration and will preview a version of the upcoming STI-branded hatchback which is expected to be available for purchase late next year. There will also be a regular version of the new Impreza for the Japanese market on display.

Another interesting debut coming from Subaru is the Levorg STI Spot#, which will be shown in prototype form for a look at future production sporty cars. The show car will be based on the existing Levorg STI Sport R EX but will feature changes to the suspension and handling to make the family vehicle even more comfortable to drive. We don’t know when the production version will arrive but it will likely only be sold in Japan.

Next to Levorg will be the Crosstrek Boost Gear Concept. We don’t know much about it, but it seems that Subaru will use it to see what upgrade parts and components will be available for the small crossover in Japan at a later date. The newly launched Subaru Rex will also get an adventure-style upgrade, which will be featured with the concept vehicle. This model is sold exclusively in Japan as a rebranded version of the Toyota Raize.

Three race cars will also be on display. These include the Subaru BRZ GT300 and the 2023 Subaru WRX NBR Challenge, as well as the 2023 Subaru WRX Rally Challenge. The automaker isn’t ready to reveal more details about these cars yet and we look forward to learning more when the Tokyo Auto Saloon kicks off next month. .
