The 2023 Colorado configuration is now live, but while the body style is identical with matched engines across the range, prices are quickly dropping very is different as you progress from entry-level work trucks to the flagship ZR2.

In our search for the most expensive trucks, we definitely started with the Colorado ZR2. It features a high-output turbocharged 2.7-liter as standard, developing 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. 17-inch wheels, electric heated seats, 11-inch digital driver screen and the ZR2 off-road package are other important standard items. The first add-on we found was exterior coating, which in this case adds $495 for Radiant Red Tintcoat paint. However, Chevrolet offers several color options at no additional cost.

That’s where the freebies end. Instead of talking about optional items, it’s best to jump into packages as they add almost anything. The big tamales are the Desert Boss Special Edition pack for $9,295. It swaps the normal 17-inch wheels for beadlock rims, adds a bunch of underbody cameras, off-road bumpers with safari blades up front, off-road sport blades and roof light bars for the bed and roof, power accessories. distribution box, and lots of stickers to let people know this is Desert Boss. Oddly enough, it is no includes the $2,495 Recovery Package, which adds a winch and off-road recovery kit.

Cameras aside, neither package offers much in the way of technology or driver assistance systems. For that you’ll need the ZR2 Convenience Package III ($1,490) and the Technology Package ($950). Those items get you the Safety Pack by default, which would otherwise be an additional $445 on its own. Combined, the packages embed the Colorado ZR2 with wireless phone charging, heated outside mirrors, ventilated seats, adaptive cruise, parking assist, lane change assist, blind spot monitoring, HD surround vision, and more.

That doesn’t leave much to check other options. There are some odd drawbacks to the aforementioned package, such as a $695 off-road driveshaft and a $1,000 power sunroof. Small items like cargo bed lights ($350), off-road side steps ($495) and some other tidbits bring us to the hefty sum of $67,685.

The new Chevrolet Colorado will enter production in the first quarter of 2023.
