The new Mercedes-Benz EQA debuts at the start of 2021, but the engineering team is already working on a refresher for it. This one is doing cold weather development.
Mercedes doesn’t appear to have made any major changes to the EQA. The development team covered the nose thoroughly. While we can’t see the details, the general look isn’t too different. Since this is an EV, the only necessary opening in the nose is a trapezoidal inlet in the lower fascia.

The last time we saw the refreshed EQA, Mercedes only covered the top grille. It’s additional proof that the brand is preparing to at least revise the nose model.
In profile, Mercedes hasn’t changed the design of the EQA.
At the rear, the updated EQA sports a camouflage stripe between the taillights. The internal design of the lamp appears to have a new look.
There’s no indication of any interior changes as we don’t have pictures of the cabin.
In Europe, Mercedes offers four EQA models. The Trim 250 was the starting point with a single electric motor producing 188 horsepower (140 kilowatts) and running on a 66.5 kilowatt-hour battery. 250+ increases the package capacity to 70.5 kWh.
For buyers who want all-wheel drive, there is EQA 300 4Matic. It has 225 hp (168 kW) and uses a 66.5 kWh battery. At the top of the range, there’s the EQA 350 4Matic making 288 hp (215 kW).
Upon launch, EQA found initial success. Mercedes reported received 20,000 orders for them. Shipping starts in March 2021.
Mercedes has already seen the future of models. In 2021, Daimler CEO Ola Källenius says Mercedes’ future entry-level EV will use lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. This plan has cheaper cells. In particular, the next generation EQA and EQB will reportedly adopt these components.
