School Bus Becomes Spacious Luxury RV With Two Bedrooms, Raised Roof

This 2010 Bluebird school bus has undergone a radical makeover, turning a former child carrier into a spacious mobile home. Epic Skoolies completed the build for the client, raising the roof for more headroom and completely redesigning the interior for maximum living comfort.

A privacy wall and door separated the living area from the small cabin, with each window covered with black-out curtains. The door opens into the living area, which has two sofas on either side of the bus and a 55-inch TV above one. A small turntable converts another sofa into a dining table area, although there is more table space in the kitchen, which is further back at the bus.

The kitchen has a three burner hob, oven and 700 watt microwave. There’s a 20-inch commercial-grade sink and faucet, ample storage above and below, and a large fridge with freezer. The opposite side of the main kitchen area is equipped with a folding table that can serve as a table or additional counter space when cooking. Bathrooms are small but packed with everything a client could want.

Behind the bus are two bedrooms. Both have twin beds with bedside tables, although the bedside table in the rear bedroom also holds a washer-dryer combo. Each bedroom has a fan and wall light, while the back bedroom also has plenty of wardrobe space. However, there is no storage under the bed where the bus keeps its electrical equipment.

The raised roof features a full-sized deck which can be accessed via an exterior staircase. The storage box above is designed to hold a deck table, chairs, fire pit equipment, and Tesla Starlink, the automaker’s satellite internet service. The exterior of the bus, which is painted bright white, is also equipped with speakers, an exterior table and ample storage under the body.

The bus is large, measuring 40 feet high and 18 feet high with a convertible roof. The security system is equipped with indoor and outdoor cameras and window sensors for added peace of mind. School buses are great for converting because their ample space provides endless layout opportunities, giving customers more freedom in designing their vehicle.
