Cadillac Optiq, Escalade IQ Trademarks Filed In Australia

After decades of absence, Cadillac is getting ready to make its electric vehicle comeback to Australia. Just last year, the luxury marque filed to trademark the Lyriq name with state authorities. Now, it appears that at least two more Cadillac EVs could potentially be sent to Australian roads, as the luxury marque recently filed for a trademark. IQ escalation And Optiq in Australia.

Marked with number 2370956, the trademark for the Cadillac Escalade IQ was filed on July 12^th, 2023 with the Australian Intellectual Property Office, under the Goods and Services category “Motor land vehicles, namely cars.” As a reminder, the Cadillac Escalade IQ is the upcoming electric variant of the iconic Escalade SUV, allowing the luxury marque to continue using an easily recognizable nameplate for future electric vehicles.

Proven with that prototype Cadillac Society has been spied undergoing testing, the Escalade IQ will look very different from its ICE-powered counterpart, as it will ride on a completely different architecture, resulting in a revamped profile and borrowed styling cues from the Cadillac Lyriq to align it with the luxury marque’s line of electric vehicles.

Meanwhile, the Cadillac Optiq trademark was also filed on July 12^th, 2023, and marked with the number 2370956. Like the filing for the Escalade IQ, it also falls under the Goods and Services category of “Motor land vehicles, namely cars.” It’s safe to assume, then, that Cadillac’s latest small crossover is headed to Australia. Recently, pictures and information about the vehicle were leaked in China. The crossover EV is very similar to the Lyriq, but seems to have its own set of elements too, like those from the Cadillac XT4.

At this time, it’s unclear when the Cadillac Escalade IQ and Cadillac Optiq could finally launch in Australia, but we’ll let you know if (or as soon as) they do.
