The entire Audi A3 family has style to refresh on the go. This gallery captures testing the rather sporty S3 hatchback in the snow.
The S3 sports a revised front fascia which now has two stacked openings and trapezoidal inlets at the corners. The bar in the center of the grille appears larger. The headlights have the same shape but have new graphics inside the lights.

Along the sides, engineers covered the fenders and side sills with camouflage. However, the styling doesn’t seem that different from the current car. Hiding this area could mean there’s been a style change that we can’t see yet.
At the back, the S3 uses a rear light with new graphics. The bumper now has vertical reflectors instead of the current horizontal design. It also seems that simulated vents and diffusers are missing.
So far, we don’t have any spy shots showing the interior of the refreshed A3. However, we hope that there will be some adjustments.
Powertrain tweaks for the refreshed A3 range are also a mystery. In the United States, the S3 currently comes with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 306 horsepower (228 kilowatts) and 295 pound-feet (400 Newton-meters).
The earlier spy shots let us see the refreshed A3 and RS3 in sedan form. The styling changes are similar to those of the S3, including a revised front end, updated headlights and a revamped rear bumper.
We expect the updated A3 range to debut in 2023. It’s not yet clear whether Audi will launch the standard models at the same time as the S3 and RS3 or surprise their arrival. Spy shots also suggest that a version using Allroad or Allstreet is on the way.
Audi plans to stop introducing combustion-powered vehicles by 2025. We expect the next-gen A3 to arrive after that year, meaning it will be an EV.
