Amazon Prime Video allegedly parted ways with “The Grand Tour” – the auto show hosted by the former Upper Equipment presenters Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond. This follows Clarkson’s controversial comments about Meghan Markle in December, for which she has issued a public apology.

In an exclusive report by Variation, sources say that Amazon Prime Video will no longer be working with Clarkson after the pre-ordered episodes of “The Grand Tour” and “Clarkson’s Farm”. The former is expected to end in late 2024 after four more special episodes, while the latter will reportedly end with season 3, which will also come out in 2024.

A press conference scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2023, which was intended to promote season 2 of Clarkson Ranch, was cancelled. Amazon Prime Video declined to comment on the matter Variationalthough Clarkson later revealed that the streaming service provider was “incandescent” about it.

In column December 16, 2022 in Suna British tabloid, Clarkson wrote the following about Markle (as quoted by Variation):

I hate him. Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate it on the cellular level.

At night, I couldn’t sleep as I lay there gritting my teeth and dreaming of the day she was made to parade naked through the streets of every English city while the crowds chanted, ‘Shame!’ and threw lumps of dirt at him.

Prince Harry took note of and commented on Clarkson’s remarks, saying that it was “horrible, hurtful and cruel to my wife. It also encourages other people across the UK and around the world, especially men, to go away and think that treatment is acceptable. women like that .”

Clarkson has issued a public apology on Instagram (embedded above and accessible via the source link below) where she went to great lengths to set things straight and express the reaction she received after the incident. He wrote:

I feel ashamed and so do other people. My phone is going crazy. Very close friends were outraged. Even my own daughter took to Instagram to heckle me.

Clarkson also revealed in a social media post that he sent Prince Harry and Meghan Markle an apology via email. A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex has issued a statement regarding the apology:

On December 25, 2022, Mr. Clarkson writes only for Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex. The contents of the correspondence are marked Private and Confidential. While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr. What remains to be addressed, Clarkson, is a longstanding pattern of writing articles that spread hateful rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories, and misogyny.

Unless every other work is also written “in a rush,” as he puts it, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared hastily, but rather a series of articles shared in hatred.

Clarkson is not new to controversy. To remember, the BBC cut ties with Upper Equipment the trio after Clarkson punched one of the show’s producers in 2015.
