Bentley Mulliner’s personalization division is celebrating a significant milestone in 2022 by completing 500 custom cars in the past 12 months. To put that number into perspective, the team needs from 2014 to 2021 to complete 1,000 vehicles.

The 500th Mulliner model this year is the Flying Spur S Hybrid for clients in the UK. The car features a Spark blue body, which is the division’s new color. The body also has Blackline specs which darken the bright exterior. It rides on black 10-spoke 22-inch wheels. The Flying B badge is on.

Inside, there are Beluga leather upholstery with diamond quilting and Klein Blue finishes. High-gloss carbon fiber adorns the cabin. The metal air vents, dial bezel, and other controls have a polished finish.

The Flying Spur S debuted in early 2022 and premiered to the public at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It comes with black parts for the grille, lower fascia, side intakes, mirror caps, window surrounds, rear bumper accents, and exhaust. Headlights and taillights tinted.

The sedan is available with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 543 horsepower (405 kilowatts) and 568 pound-feet (770 Newton-meters) of torque. Alternatively, there’s the car’s hybrid-assisted twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 engine, and the powerplant produces 536 hp (400 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm). It could travel 26 miles (41 kilometers) on electric power.

Bentley created the Mulliner division for vehicle personalization in 2014. The automaker reports that orders have increased fivefold since 2018. This popularity contributed to options revenue for each car which was up 36 percent in the same period.

“2021 has been a record year for Mulliner Design which saw the team need to grow by 50 per cent to meet customer demands and in 2022 the team was really put to the test as it has seen an 85 per cent year over year increase in customer/retailer commissions,” said Paul Dickinson, Bentley’s chief commercial officer for Mulliner and motorsport.
