Bentley Turns Bacalar, Continental GT Speed Into a 1:43 Scale Model

Bentley is an expensive brand, with its bespoke models out of reach for many. However, smaller examples are available, and Bentley has two new examples that are much friendlier to the wallet. The automaker has introduced two new models of its 1:43 scale cars – Continental GT Speed and Bacalar by Mulliner.

Both are very detailed, just like the real thing. Bentley introduced Bacalar by Mulliner just over two years ago, a two-seater, roofless model that’s limited to just 12 cars. The car takes inspiration from the EXP 100 GT concept, with only the door handles being carried over to Bacalar.

The model wears the same Yellow Flame exterior color as the debut vehicle, which “pays tribute to the ongoing and revolutionary” colorstream “paint.” This is a paint specially developed by Bentley for Bacalar’s new sheet metal. Inside, the sleek cabin is recreated in miniature, including upholstery patterns and yellow accents. Bentley says the model’s interior features a Gray Tweed and Beluga color scheme.

The Continental GT Speed may not be as rare or expensive as the Bacalar, but it’s still stunning despite its size. The 1:43 scale model sports a Candy Red exterior which complements the carbon fiber Styling Package that adorns the car. Inside, Bentley finished the Hotspur Continental GT Speed cabin with custom Speed embroidery.

The new CGT Speed makes its debut in 2021, with a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine that produces 650 horsepower (485 kilowatts) and 664 pound-feet (900 Newton-meters) of torque. All that power allows this luxury coupe to reach 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 3.5 seconds. It has a top speed of 208-mph (335-kph). Bacalar has the same powertrain and, by extension, similar performance numbers.

The newer models are much cheaper than their real-world counterparts. Both cost $121.47. The original GT Speed starts at $277,625, while the Bacalar is priced at £1.5 million ($1.83 million at current exchange rates). Candy Red GT Speed exterior and Bacalar Yellow Fire paint are the only color options available.
