Unless you’re living under a rock, you should know that Honda has introduced a new generation of Civic Type R. And you know what that means – the title for the fastest front-wheel-drive production vehicle at the Nürburgring is ready. another match from Honda.

According to Charoudin, the two Civic Type Rs exclusively lick the track. Weather also agreed with Honda for this alleged attempt. If the automaker succeeds, expect an announcement in the coming weeks.

Based on the 11th generation Honda Civic Hatchback, the Civic Type R FL5 is powered by the same 2.0-liter turbocharged engine but boosted to 315 horsepower (235 kilowatts) and 310 pound-feet (420 Newton-meters) of torque. 9 hp and 15 lb-ft increase over the old model. These improvements include optimized turbine blades that deliver greater pressure with a wider range and higher efficiency. The exhaust has also been updated to let out more gas. The new model also received suspension tweaks for better performance.

This resulted in better lap times than the Civic Type R, outperforming the FK8 at the Suzuka Circuit before the car was even revealed.
