2024 Cadillac XT6 Gets Recommended Rating By Consumer Reports

The 2024 model year represents the fifth of the first-generation Cadillac XT6, and Consumer Reports recently added the model its list of recommended vehicles.

This is the first time that the XT6 has landed on CR’s recommended vehicles list, as the publication lacked sufficient data to rank the 2020 through 2023 model years. Overall, the 2024 Cadillac XT6 earned a score of 72 on a 100-point scale, placing it third of nine luxury three-row SUVs evaluated. Specifically, the publication commended it for its ride, quietness and the performance of its transmission, signaling that XT6 owners are satisfied with the crossover SUV’s performance when it comes to drivability and comfort. However, it earned poor marks for things like poor fuel economy, limited seat adjustments, lack of luxury features found in rivals, and below-average brand reliability.

CR gave the 2024 Cadillac XT6 a predicted reliability score of 48, which is average among similar vehicles. By comparison, the 2024 Lexus GX earned the highest predicted reliability score (86), followed by the 2024 Acura MDX (51) and 2024 Audi Q7 (49). The 2024 XT6 outperformed the 2024 Infiniti QX60 (42), 2024 Volvo XC90 (39), 2024 Lincoln Aviator (35) and 2024 Land Rover Discovery (30).

Meanwhile, the predicted owner satisfaction score clocked in at 3/5 overall, while predicted satisfaction with driving experience was 81, and comfort was 78. The XT6 also ranked highly in terms of styling, earning 81 points, although it was dinged for its perceived value, as its score of 48 points indicated that quite a few owners did not feel they got what they got enough for the price they paid.

Even so, 61 percent of XT6 owners say they would consider purchasing the XT6 again. That’s lower than several other 2024 model year rivals. For instance, 93 percent of owners said they’d buy the BMW X5 again, while 84 percent would opt for the Rivian R1S. However, the XT6 did earn a better score than the Aviator, as 58 percent of buyers said they would purchase this vehicle a second time.
