The VW ID.4 Is The Ant-Man Family Vehicle That May Shrink In The New Campaign

Volkswagen is launching a global 360 degree campaign to coincide with the release of Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” in theaters February 17th. , in the spotlight with custom movie-inspired content.

The VW ID.4 will be featured as Ant-Man’s family car in the film, and Volkswagen aims to reach millions of people around the world with this integration. Volkswagen saw the Ant-Man character as a perfect fit for the brand because it was relatable, authentic and had a great sense of humor.

The campaign will start with a custom co-created venue that will be featured on social media, TV and in theaters. You can watch the VW ID.4 commercial at the top of this page, which features Ant-Man’s daughter, Cassie Lang, in a suit trying to sneak out of her father in an EV. At one point, you can see the ID.4 shrink, like most of the vehicles used by the main characters in previous Ant-Man films.

The commercial was directed by longtime Marvel Studios collaborator Anthony Leonardi III, and the effects are brought to life by Framestore’s award-winning VFX team. A behind-the-scenes feature will also give viewers a glimpse into the filming and placement of the Volkswagen ID.4 electric compact SUV during production.

Ant-Man is one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has been featured in the previous two films. The first “Ant-Man” film was released in 2015, and the sequel “Ant-Man and the Wasp” was released in 2018. In the second film, the main character drives a Hyundai, which was a product placement agreement between Marvel Studios and an automaker. The car that stands out the most in the film is the Hyundai Veloster dressed up a la Hot Wheels.

As mentioned, “Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania” will hit theaters on February 17th. We expect more EV appearances in the film. Meanwhile, the video below features the latest trailer for the film.
